Privacy Policy

What we collect

Account. You sign in with Apple or Google. We receive the name and email address they share with us and keep a user ID for your account. We never see your Apple or Google password.

Children you link. You link a child with the Plus ID on their school card and your parent code. Plus Learn (the school's system) checks the code and tells us the child's Plus ID, name, class and school, which we store under your account. Plus Pay never stores the code.

School-fee payments. For each payment we record the child's Plus ID, what it was for, the amount, how you paid (MTN MoMo, Airtel Money or card), the time and a receipt reference, so you and the school share one record. Payments are processed by Pesapal on its own page; Plus Pay never sees or stores your mobile-money PIN or card number.

Questions you ask. When you use Ask Plus, your question and the payment records needed to answer it are sent to our AI provider to write the answer. They are not used for advertising.

Device and usage data. Crash reports and diagnostics (Sentry), how the app is used (PostHog), a device identifier and a push-notification token, so we can fix problems and send payment and fee reminders.

Camera. Used only to scan a payment QR code when you open the scanner. Images are not stored.

What we do not do

• We do not sell personal data or share it with advertisers, and we show no ads.
• We do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
• We do not collect your location or contacts.

Who sees your information

The school sees the payments you make for your child, against the child's Plus ID. Service providers process data only to provide their service to us: Google (Firebase sign-in, database and hosting), Apple (sign-in), Pesapal (payments), our AI provider (Ask Plus), Sentry and PostHog (crash reports and usage analytics) and Expo (notifications). We disclose data where the law requires it.

One Plus ID across Plus apps

A child's Plus ID is issued by their school through Plus Learn and shared with Plus Pay and PlusBoda only when a parent links that child. Plus Pay receives the child's name, class and school, and nothing about their learning or transport.

Where data lives

Data is stored in Google Cloud Firestore and Firebase (Google Cloud Platform, United States), encrypted in transit and at rest. Security rules restrict every record to the account that owns it; payment records are written only by our servers.

Retention and deletion

Your account and linked children are kept until you delete your account (Settings → Delete account) or ask us to. Payment records are kept for seven years to meet financial record-keeping obligations, then deleted. Deletion requests are honoured within 30 days.

Children

Plus Pay is for adults. A child's Plus ID, name and class are stored only because a parent linked them, and only that parent and the child's school can see them.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete personal data we hold, in line with Uganda's Data Protection and Privacy Act, 2019.
