Privacy Policy

Plus Pay (“the app”, “we”) is a mobile-money companion app for Uganda: MTN MoMo and Airtel Money in one place, with school fees paid against a child's Plus ID. This policy explains what data the app handles, where it goes and your choices. Plus Pay is operated from Kampala, Uganda.

What we collect

Account. You sign in with Google (Apple sign-in on iPhone where offered). We receive your name, email address and profile photo from the provider, authenticated by Google Firebase Authentication. We never see or store your Google password.

Children you link. When you link a child with the Plus ID and PIN from their school card, we ask Plus Learn to verify the PIN and store the child's Plus ID, name, class and school under your account. The PIN itself is never stored by Plus Pay.

School-fee payments. For each fee you pay we record the child's Plus ID, the fee, the amount, the wallet used and the time, so the school and you have one shared record.

Mobile-money wallets. The wallet balances and transaction history shown in the app come from the wallets you connect. Plus Pay never asks for your mobile-money PIN, bank details or card numbers.

Camera. Used only to scan payment QR codes when you open the scanner. Images are not stored.

What we do not do

  • We do not sell personal data and we do not share it with advertisers.
  • We show no ads and use no advertising or third-party analytics SDKs.
  • We do not collect precise location or contacts.

One Plus ID across Plus apps

A child's Plus ID is issued by their school through Plus Learn and shared with Plus Pay and Plus Boda only when a parent links that child. Plus Pay receives the child's name, class and school — nothing about their learning or transport.

Where data lives

Data is stored in Google Cloud Firestore and Firebase (Google Cloud Platform, United States), encrypted in transit and at rest. Security rules restrict every record to the account that owns it; payment records are written only by our servers.

Retention and deletion

Your account and linked children are kept until you delete your account (Settings → Delete account) or ask us to. Payment records are kept for seven years to meet financial record-keeping obligations, then deleted. Deletion requests are honoured within 30 days.

Children

Plus Pay is for adults. A child's Plus ID, name and class are stored only because a parent linked them, and only the parent can see them.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete personal data we hold, in line with Uganda's Data Protection and Privacy Act, 2019.
